Abstract: The authors present the statements of decision theory (DT) which is the basis of decision-making support systems included in artificial intelligence systems. The block diagram of decision-making succession, with the objective function as its core, is made up. The role of an individual making a decision as a person bearing responsibility is emphasized. The authors give an example of using DT for implementing the method of selecting means for realizing the algorithm of the performance of the information technical system being designed.
