Abstract: This paper describes two new algorithms for detection and isolation of the phoneme [r] in the Russian and Kazakh speech signal. Both algorithms aim to detect a low-amplitude signal frames corresponding to the moments of interaction between the tongue and the hard palate. One algorithm operates with a numerical analog of the full variation, the other uses sequential smoothing and the number of points of constancy.
