Abstract: The subject of the paper is the search of objects in aerial photographs made in various spectral ranges. Templates of objects to be sought are represented as binary images containing the contours of objects. A procedure for comparing the template and a reference image is proposed. It is based on the analysis of gradient of the image brightness. This procedure allows using several images of the same scene in order to enhance the robustness of the search with respect to various kinds of noise.
