Abstract: The paper is devoted to the problem of recognition of car license plate symbols on a basis of MKV-classifier. Association of 8 properties in the form of the MKV- classifier has allowed to receive quality of recognition on the average on all classes of the accepted alphabet – 95%, and to increase speed of performance of operation of classification in comparison with the template matching method more than in 10 times. Low computing complexity in a combination to high overall performance of the classifier allows to use it for the decision of a wide range of applied problems in images recognition area.
