Analysis and synthesis of parametric models for investigation of emotional expressions on the human face

Abstract: The paper considers the problem of synthesis of a parametric model of the facial muscular structure of the face for facial expressions modeling. The set of existing physical and parametrical models was discussed in the article. A model of the surface deformation of the face using characteristic points of the scalar field of surface deformations is proposed. The set of anthropometric features on the face was formalized for the task of synthesizing emotional facial expressions based on the analysis of the model. A bunch of examples was provided to describe applications of model proposed.
