Abstract: In the paper using the existing approaches to ontology construction of the lower level, and also formats and standards of knowledge representation, the technology of ontology developed in materials science domain by Protégé-OWL tool is presented. The developed ontology is directed to application in the intelligence systems of information search in the text data corpus. Possibilities of practical application of the developed ontology in scientific researches are analysed.
