Abstract: Information possibilities of new method of increasing quality and segmentation sensitivity of low contrast images are considered. The main idea of the method is based on the transition from magnitude (brightness) modulation, to phase (angular) modulation in a complex space. It provides a possibility for generalization idea of optical ellipsometry to domain of digital methods of image processing. Results of real testing of the method possibilities are presented.
