Abstract: This paper considers a method of detection of the optimal number of clusters in the fuzzy c-partition based on constructing an interval of values of the most possible numbers of classes with using of fuzzy numbers. A modification of the FCM-CV-algorithm is proposed and a result of the numerical experiment is given.
