Abstract: The article is dedicated to the classification of possible ways to evaluate image quality. An image can be processed through quantitative evaluation or subjective evaluation. Quantitative evaluation is based on the use of mathematical methods while subjective one is built on the results of experts' review. On the other hand, these evaluation methods can also be called as absolute and comparative. Authors also describe the most used quality evaluation methods as well as their classification and rank scales, which are applicable for subjective image quality evaluation.
