Abstract: In this paper the approach giving the estimate of the class size reduction influence on the recognition rate for the kNN classifiers has been proposed. The approach also gives the possibility to estimate the optimal k value of the nearest neighbours. The simulative modeling of the training set reduction influence on the recognition process results has been carried out. The obtained results can be used for the training set formation and its correction.
