Abstract: The problem of human face recognition with the use of large databases is consideration. Two methods – principal component and method of features extraction from initial images wavelet-transformation with the follow-up use of principal component are proposed and investigated. It is shown that recognition quality of these methods is approximate identical, herewith wavelet precomputation allows considerably to decrease of initial information quantity, that is important for real time mode application.
